Let’s first start with the fact that Andrew and I are finally married! Our wedding in Santa Barbara at the Carousel House was an absolute dream! We hit the jackpot with the weather and loved spending time at the beach with family and friends.

Since 2021 felt like my first true and full year of my ceramics business, I had a lot more meaningful data to sift through. I thought I would share some business stats and findings with you here!

For those of you that are new here, I took up pottery on a whim at a local studio while I was in graduate school at LMU in 2019. I initially took a class as a way to try something new and destress during my semester of full-time student teaching and here we are!

Well, 2021 has arrived and although I was not expecting much to change, it has been an emotionally trying week and a half. I want to share with you some positives that did come out of 2020 for my small biz but feel it is first necessary to acknowledge the madness going on in our country right now.

It’s been a minute since I have written a new blog post! If you read my last post, “Busy Bee”, you know that I had been juggling a lot of new work. Although I decided to drop some of my part-time positions, I have to say I don’t think I am any less busy!

Well… I am a bit behind on my monthly blog post! Good thing I set my own deadlines, right?! I have had quite a busy schedule since mid-August, at one point juggling 5 part-time positions.

Thanks for reading my first blog on the new website! Woohoo! I’m going to try to keep this month’s recap short and sweet. One of the biggest accomplishments this month for Sakai Harts & Crafts was the summer makeover I gave to my website.

At the end of each month, I skim through my journal entries and write down the highlights and reflections of the month. I sat down to do this earlier in the week and could not believe that it was already time to do this again. Where did June go when it felt like each week crawled slowly along?!

Writing this blog post has been on my to-do list for about three weeks now. Initially, I had put it off out of sheer procrastination and lack of motivation to create towards the end of May. More recently, I have put it off due to a heavy heart.

I decided to start a blog! I can’t say that I am much of a writer, but I hope that it will be a great way for me to reflect on my business each month.
